Getting Serious About Watching Movies
My local cable provider, has been offering a service where you can watch movies and television shows whenever you want. They do it through the use of a digital tv box, that works like a little computer to deliver movies and television directly to your television. To be honest, I think it’s a great idea. Not a new idea, but a good one none the less. The problem I have with it, is the lousy execution of the service they provide. It slow, clunky, and unintuitive. It actually lags behind what I’ve been doing on my computer for years when it comes time to watch movies online . While it would be nicer to watch this kind of stuff directly on my HD LCD, the technology just lags too far behind what I can do on my computer. And, I’m not sure it will ever catch up.
Just think how east it is to n watch Sex and the City 2 movie online anytime you want to on your computer. It’s fast, cheap, flexible and convenient. Compare that to the experience I’ve had trying to access my local cable providers streaming service, and you’ll understand where I’m coming from. I really wish they would catch up, but for now I’ll watch The A-Team movie online. There are plenty of good movies out there in the online world. You can watch Killers (2010) movie online if you want to as well. It’s a fun comedy movie with a bit of a twist to it. These days, if I’m going to do some serious movie watching, I’ll be doing it online.
Jersey Shore Back In Seaside Heights
When the first season of the jersey shore came to its conclusion, their was quite a bit of talk that the jersey shore guidos were going to be packing their bags and moving south for the next season. Much talk ensued and while they started the second season in sunny Miami, Florida the crew was actually banned from all of the bars in the area! Because of this, they have moved the show back to jersey and it should be a very interesting season!
For those of you that don’t know, the Jersey Shore is a show which follows several self proclaimed guidos and guidettes as they fist pump and drink their way to celebrity glory. The show came under fire early on by many Italian American groups based upon the loose use of the term guido which is rather derogatory in many ways. The crew however has always been able to shake off the negative energy and keep moving forward which is why they are back for yet another season.
The casts biggest star may very well be Mike The Situation Soreninto, who was reported to have filed for bankruptcy shortly before he became a celebrity, pretty wild right?!? Another show star, Snookie who was featured as being attacked by a man in a bar early in the first season (you’ll have to buy the jersey shore dvd if you want to see it, they will not show it again on television) is fist pumpin yet again, and on her search for true love.
Regardless of whether or not you like the show, their is no way to deny its intense entertainment factor, even if it is pretty stupid at times. Its been called a car wreck, you don’t want to look, but you just cannot take your eyes off it it. I am sure that the shore crew will give us plenty of reason to keep our eyes glued to the tube this season, I know ill be watching!
Why I Like Watching My Television Online
As usual, technology has put the power in the hands of the people and their are way ahead of the business and the governments of our generation. This cycle has been going on for a while. At the rapid pace of technological change, and the ever sluggish speed at which our governments operate, I don’t see things getting any better any time soon. What I’m talking about, is of course the ability for people to watch television shows on their computers, instead of their televisions. For at least five years or more now, computers and the internet have offered the technology for anyone to watch TV online. And, it’s caught on like wildfire.
Why you might ask? Well, if you’ve ever done it you’ll understand why. There’s no need, to be held prisoner by the television network, or cable networks schedule. If you choose to download and watch TV online, there are no such thing as commercials. You can watch the shows when and where ever you like. You can watch from your laptop, your desktop, your portable DVD player, and your mobile devices. Now, I know some of you are going to say, well I have a PVR, and can watch my shows whenever I want. Sure, but a PVR is really just a glorified VCR player, and there is still the limitation of where you can watch it.
Lately, were starting to see a somewhat limited offering of television shows available for watching online on some television network channels websites. But, it’s often very limited in terms of which episodes, and which series you can watch. But, it is getting better. I can only imagine, that the one thing slowing the big networks down, is that they haven’t figured out a way to properly make more money of this new business model. Well guys, I’m telling you to just get off the pot and do it! Figure out how to make money off it later. YouTube did it that way, and those guys seem to be doing all right. The people have already gone their already, so the sooner you guys catch up, the better for us all. Of course, the music industry went through this years before, and they still don’t seem to have things right.

Enjoy your Digital Pictures on you HDTV Set
If you enjoy taking pictures with your digital camera there is a high chance that you love to show your pictures to family an friends. In fact, if the afore mentioned statement is correct you are probably one of the millions that take out their laptop computers to show pictures that were taken before if printing out photos was not possible.
However , the biggest screen that you may have in your home that can be used to show off your pictures may have been sitting there without your attention. Today there are a lot of HDTV televisions that are able to read USB devices and even SD cards directly. If you are considering to buy a new HDTV set soon or if you bought one recently you should check around to see if the set you have or the one that you will buy has USB ports or SD card slots.
Through an USB port you can quickly connect a storage device or your digital camera the same way that you connect them to a laptop computer and display your photo collection to your friends and family. The same applies if the HDTV set has an SD card slot but you can only use memory cards in this case. Of course, you should make sure the HDTV set is able to decode the format that your camera uses to render. Just remember that if the set that you are using is huge there will be a slight decrease in the quality of the image compared to the quality you would see in a small computer screen this is due to the difference in the size of pixels. If you are serious about it, you may consider a set that offers a 1080p resolution so that the pictures look as neat and smooth as possible. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Using Manga to Learn Japanese
One of the most difficult things when first learning a new language is finding reading material that is of the appropriate level. A great option at this stage is Japanese manga.
The early stages of learning a language can be particularly difficult because the reading material available is either boring or not something that catches your attention. An ideal option at this stage is finding something that you genuinely want to be able to read. Manga is a great place to search for this type of material because not only does it provides a nearly endless set of material to choose from, but it also gives a visual representation of the story.
The visual representation of what you are reading provides clues to what is going on in the story. It is a great way to hold your attention while you read and can help with tricky words that you don’t necessary want to look up in the dictionary. With Japanese, the combination of the pictures on each page paired with the hints offered by the kanji in the word is a great way to make the text an interesting puzzle to unravel.
Another great thing about using manga to study Japanese in particular is that there are so many manga series that show all furigana next to the text. Furigana are small characters shown next to kanji to remind the reader of the pronunciation. In many cases this is reserved for the most difficult kanji, but having them all provided for you can make the reading experience more enjoyable (along with making looking up words in a dictionary simpler as well).
So if you’re learning a language and are stuck reading boring children’s books, give manga a try. Some great options are One Piece, Detective Conan, Death Note, and Gantz manga. Whichever one you pick, it will offer a fun way of practicing your target language and offer a glimpse into an interesting type of media from Japan.
Avatar The Last Airbender – The Hit TV Show
The series, which was popular among both critics and TV viewers, aired on Nickelodeon and also on the Nicktoons Network and ran for three years. An interesting aspect of the series was the way that it blended the styles of Japanese anime and more traditional American cartoons. Its creators and producers were Bryan Konietzko and Michale Dante Dimartino. The pilot episode aired in February of 2005 and the series ended with a TV movie in July of 2008. While the program was aimed at kids, it was popular among many older viewers as well, and it won several awards. Avatar The Last Airbender is a cartoon series that has nothing to do with the movie Avatar.
This series is set in a magical world that is very recognizable to fans of Asian genres. The protagonist Aang is an avatar, which is a term that comes from Hinduism and originally described an incarnation of a Hindu deity, usually Vishnu. In this case he is the more modern definition of an avatar, which is a spiritually advanced being who guides people. He is an airbender, which means he can control the element air, one of the four classical elements. The others are fire, earth and water. These elements are represented as nations, with the Fire Nation being evil. The four “bending†abilities were based on different martial arts by the creators of the show.
The avatar was originally the master of the four elements and was supposed to protect the world from the Fire Nation, but disappeared prior to the time covered in the series. Right after he disappears, in a state of suspended animation in an iceberg, Fire Lord Sozin starts a genocidal attack on the Air Nation, known as the Air Nomads, because according to the traditional cycle the next avatar will be from the air element and will try to stop him from taking over the world, as the previous avatar had.
In the first episode, Aang and his flying bison guide Appa are found by people from the Water Nation. Aang learns about the genocide the Fire Lord Sozin had commited, which had wiped out the Air Nomads. Thus Aang is the Last Airbender of the title. He begins to train to master the other elements as an avatar must. The ensuing episodes chronicle Aang’s training under various teachers, and the battles and other conflicts with the forces of evil, culminating with a final struggle.
Avatar The Last Airbender is a very imaginative series that I would highly recommend checking out. They are best to watch with the full DVD Seasons.
