What Are My Favorite Types Of Movies To Watch?

Well, I’m glad you asked. OK, maybe you didn’t ask, but the fact that you followed a link to my article, on my blog, then I have to assume that you really would like to know what my favorite movies. Not sure why, but here you are, so I’m going to tell you. I’m a typical guy, with a leaning to towards movies that have plenty of eye candy in them. Yea sure, I like big explosions, and epic space battles, with all kinds of flashing lights and pretty colors. I like it even better when there’s a story to go with it, but I’m not going to shy away from, or dis a movie that looks pretty cool without a great story.

Take Avatar as an example lately. Sure the eye candy was unparalleled in movie making lore, but the story was as bit rehashed. Even Cameron admitted to incorporating a number of stories he’s enjoyed over the years into this picture. And I’m fine with this, as it wasn’t exactly bad story telling, it was just a bit of “been there done that” kind of stuff. Now, if I can find a movie that has terrific story telling incorporated into terrific visuals, I’ll be a fan for life.

One of my all time favorite movies, would have to be Blade Runner. This is a movie, that just stands on it’s on, and ages incredibly well as the years go by. Sure, the special effects are not mind blowing by today’s standards, they still do the job. And the story, acting, and character development are simply some of the best. Combine that with one of my favorite directors ever (Ridely Scott), and it’s going to be hard for a bad movie to come out the back end of the production process. Considering the original story was written by Phillip K Dick, it’s understandable that this would be a great movie.

So in case you haven’t guessed yet, when I watch movies online, by favorite choice to watch would be smart and visually stunning science fiction movies. I like science fiction movies, because, I tend to like a lot of fiction in my fiction. Movies are escapism, and if I’m going to escape, I may as well go as far as possible. Funny cop movies are another genre I particularly like. Stuff like Cop Out are ones I would really enjoy. Give it a try, and see what you think.
